Kaitlyn Denten, Camila Fonseca-Sarmiento, and Frank Douma, all of IURIF, published a new report, “Distribution of the E-Bike Rebate and Data Collection for the Analysis of Travel Behavior Impact” for the Center for Transportation Studies.

Camila Fonseca-Sarmiento, director of fiscal research at the Institute for Urban and Regional Infrastructure Finance (IURIF), is chief researcher on a new report series, “Meeting the Trillion-Dollar Challenge,” published by the Volcker Alliance, which warns of a $1 trillion infrastructure maintenance gap in states across the country.

Faculty, staff, and student researchers affiliated with the Institute for Urban and Regional Infrastructure Finance (IURIF) have won the 2022 Robert C. Johns Research Partnership Award from the Center for Transportation Studies, for their Minnesota Distance-Based Fee Demonstration.

Humphrey School alumna Katie Emory, Professor Jason Cao, and Frank Douma published the paper, “Autonomous Vehicle Policies with Equity Implications: Patterns and Gaps,” in Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives. This work was funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Xinyi Wu, Professor Jason Cao, and Frank Douma published the paper, “The Impacts of Vehicle Automation on Transport-Disadvantaged People,” in Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives.

Professor Jerry Zhao and the members of Governor Tim Walz's Metropolitan Council Blue Ribbon Panel have submitted their final report examining the role of elected versus appointed Metropolitan Council members.

The funding will support research in a number of areas, including transportation equity and assessing the effects of highway improvements on adjacent businesses.

The committee heard expertise from Frank Douma on automated vehicles; Adeel Lari on telecommuting; and Lee Munnich on transportation finance.
