What are the catering guidelines?
- The Humphrey School offers an open catering policy. With few exceptions, clients can use any licensed caterer they choose. If your caterer is not familiar with the Humphrey School, we are happy to have them contact us directly with any questions.
- Clients must comply with all Food Safety Policies at the University, including obtaining necessary permits (see permits section).
- Clients must be on-site to meet their caterer, the Conference Center is not able to sign for any catering or deliveries.
- Catering equipment should be loaded in and out on the same day as the event unless previous arrangements are made. Caterers will have access to the space during the event “Reservation” time listed on the event confirmation.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring all waste is in bins provided. Contact the Conference Center beforehand if you have a large number of guests or are serving boxed lunches, so appropriate receptacles can be provided.

What are the contact table reservation requirements?
- Distribution of printed material must not obstruct normal traffic flow. Representatives must remain seated behind or standing to the side of the contact table.
- Posters or banners are not permitted to be hung on walls or columns near contact tables, as it could cause damage.
- Food and beverages or food and beverage sales are not permitted at contact tables. This includes pre-packaged snacks and candy.
- A group is only permitted one contact table reservation, for a maximum of five hours, each day.
- University guests and departments are permitted up to six days per semester and registered student groups are permitted twelve days per semester. No more than three days in a week. A week is considered Monday-Sunday.

Where is the nearest parking and transportation?
- The 19th Avenue Parking Ramp is located across the street from the Humphrey School. The 21st Avenue Parking Ramp is one block away. Surface lots and meters are also available nearby.

- Parking vouchers can be purchased directly through UMN Parking and Transportation Services, or through the Conference Center for a small fee.
- The Humphrey Conference Center is 180 steps from the West Bank Light Rail station on the Metro Transit Green Line.

- Metro Transit also has a number of busses that stop on the West Bank, including 2, 3, 7, 22, 111, 113, 114, 118, 252, 272, 355, 465, 475, 490, 579, 652, 695, 698, 774, 789, 795.

- Public Performance License
- The Humphrey School Conference Center is public. If you are planning on showing a film that has been copyrighted, it is illegal for you to show it without first obtaining a public performance license.The Federal Copyright Act governs how copyrighted material such as movies may be used. Please contact the Events and Conferences Office at 612-624-8145 for information on obtaining a public performance license.

What amenities do you provide?
- Lactation Room
- The Humphrey School has a lactation space in room 217. This room is also listed on the University’s roster of lactation spaces found here. The Lactation Room is key-code protected, cards with access information are available from the Conference Center office during all events.
- Gender Neutral Restrooms
- The Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life has partnered with the Transgender Commission and Facilities Management to create Gender Neutral Restrooms across the University of Minnesota. The majority of these restrooms are single-stall and wheelchair accessible. Information about Gender Neutral Restrooms and a map showing restroom locations across campus is available at http://gsc.umn.edu/resources/all-gender-restroom-map. The nearest Gender Neutral Restrooms to the Humphrey School are located in Heller Hall, floors 1, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11 and 12. Event specific Gender Neutral Restrooms can be created upon request.
- Drinking Fountains
- Drinking fountains with water bottle fillers are located outside the restroom on each floor of the Humphrey School.
- AED
- Two AEDs are available in the Conference Center. One is located on the first floor Atrium, outside of room 130. The second is on the third floor, outside of the Anthropology department.
- Linen
- Please note that the Humphrey School Conference Center does not provide linens free of charge, except for stage linen in the Auditorium upon request. We are happy to coordinate linen rental for you for an additional cost.
- Round tables measure 60” across (typically using 90-120” round linen)
- All of our rectangle banquet tables are 6 feet (85” square linen)
- Please note that the Humphrey School Conference Center does not provide linens free of charge, except for stage linen in the Auditorium upon request. We are happy to coordinate linen rental for you for an additional cost.
- Wifi
- The Humphrey Conference Center offers free wifi with speeds significant enough to access email and web pages.
- Upgraded wifi logins are available for $5 per login.
- Eduroam wifi is available to those with existing logins.
