Myers Appointed to National TRB Committee on Equity

Professor Samuel Myers Jr. has been appointed to serve on the U.S. Transportation Research Board (TRB) Standing Committee on Contracting Equity. He began his three-year term in April. 

The committee is concerned with issues related to the involvement of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) in the transportation industry. It is especially interested in strategies associated with achieving the objectives of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s DBE program. Myers, an economist, is an expert on DBE contracting, having researched the topic extensively

The Transportation Research Board is part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. It provides leadership in transportation improvements and innovation through trusted, timely, impartial, and evidence-based information exchange, research, and advice regarding all modes of transportation.
