Anita Patel, MPP ‘04 Promoted at Bush Foundation

Anita Patel (MPP ‘04) has been promoted to vice president of grantmaking at the Bush Foundation. Previously she was director of Leadership Programs, where she worked to inspire, equip, and connect leaders. 

Prior to joining the Bush Foundation in 2015, Patel spent over a decade developing leadership, equity and justice programs as Vice President for Racial Justice and Public Policy at the YWCA of Minneapolis. Her career also includes work in the domestic violence field, and in immigrant and refugee services.  

Patel received the Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Award in 2011. She was named a 40 Under 40 honoree by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal and a Top Six Business Leader Under 30 by Minnesota Business Magazine.

Patel serves on the boards of Voices for Racial Justice, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and Grantmakers for Effective Organizations.
