Despite so many election administrators working in rural locations, not much attention is paid to what it takes to administer elections in rural settings.

Although fewer than one in five voters live in rural areas, more than two-thirds of election officials live and work in these same areas. Despite this, there is relatively little discussion of the effects rurality has on election administration – from who does the work to what differences exist. Professors Cameron Wimpy and Will McLean explore these questions with an examination of election administration in the Lower Mississippi Delta and will describe their findings with moderator Judd Choate, Colorado Elections Director.
