Mr. Nand has worked as a financial analyst for Citibank, N.A, and is an associate of the New Zealand Institute of Management.

        He is a Senior Planning Engineer in the Satellite Communications Department of EMBRATEL, the key national communications agency of Brazil. His department develops short and long term applications of satellite communications technology. He has been involved in the long term telecommunications planning for Brazil's cities and has worked abroad as a consultant.

        Mr. Schneiderman's training is in Business Administration (1976) and Electrical Engineering (1978).

          He is the Director of the Department of Industrial Projects in the Ministry of Planning and Statistics, where he oversees feasibility studies for projects in Benin. Mr. Tohon has taught financial planning and project analysis at the National Institute of Economics since 1980.

          He holds a B.Econ (1975) from the University of Grenoble, and diplomas in Industrial Planning and Project Analysis (1978) and Financial Development Systems (1979) from the University of Paris.

            Ms. Andah is a Senior Research Officer at Ghana's Food Research Institute, which studies processing and preservation of local foodstuffs in order to increase their efficiency. She has been both scientist and executive in the Institute, and has traveled extensively for academic study and professional consultation. She recently headed a technical committee for the government of Ghana, investigating the production and distribution of wheat flour in Ghana.

            Ms. Andah holds a B.Sc. Special from the University of Ghana (1966) and a M. Phil. degree from the University of Leeds (1970), both in Food Science, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Food Technology from The International Agricultural Center in Wageningen, The Netherlands (1981).

              Ms. Cortes is the Chief Architect in the Municipality of Maria Pinto in Chile, where she has worked since 1981 on rural community planning and development. She has been concerned particularly with improving the design and construction of rural housing, to help alleviate Chile's housing deficit. Ms. Cortes also works as an independent architect and is a member of the Chilean Association of Architects. She has worked for the Institute of Cultural Affairs, and is an active participant in organizations concerned with women's issues and environmental quality issues in Chile. Ms. Cortes was a high school exchange student in the U.S. She holds an Architecture degree from the University of Chile (1979).

                He is a physician specializing in mental health and public health in the Municipal Prefecture of Cabo Frio, Brazil, where he is General Coordinator of Health Centers. Dr. de Oliveira also serves as attending physician in the Institute of Benefits and Assistance to employees of Cabo Frio. He is President of the Board of Directors of the research center foundation in his hospital. Dr. de Oliveira is particularly interested in psychiatric rehabilitation. He participated in a Council of International Programs seminar in the U.S, in 1983, and is a member of the Executive Board of its alumni program.

                Dr. de Oliveira holds an M.D. degree from the School of Medicine and Surgery, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1976).

                  Mr. Dembele is a sociologist and Chief of the Social Studies Office, Center of Adapted Technology, in Bamako, Mali. His responsibilities include overseeing social and economic studies of cooperatives formed to develop new technologies. He also serves as a consultant to urban developers, to guide the selection of appropriate technologies for the cities of Mali. Mr. Dembele is particularly interested in problems of housing development. Recently he has also been involved in evaluation of pilot programs for urban water quality control.

                  Mr. Dembel holds a Diploma in Philosophy from the Ecole Normale Superieur, Mali (1976), and a Maitrise d'ouvrage in Urban Planning from S.M.U.H., Paris (1978).

                    Combatting Childhood Communicable Diseases Project

                    Dr. Holder is a public health physician and Manager of the Combatting Childhood Communicable Diseases Project, a bilateral project of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Liberia and USIA, which focuses on such widespread problems as malaria and dehydration disorders. As Manager Dr. Holder must plan, implement and monitor Project activities including training, health education, health information systems development, operational research, and evaluation of selected primary health care programs.

                    Dr. Holder earned a Diploma in Tropical Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (1976), and a B.Sc. in Science and Psychology (1969) and an M.D., CM. degree (1973) from McGill University, Canada.

                      He is the General Manager of Ghana National Trading Corporation (GNTC), and is responsible for the overall administration of GNTC department stores throughout Ghana. He has served in several positions within GNTC since 1976. Prior to joining GNTC he was a manager with Kingsway Stores, a division of UNC, from 1967 to 1975. Mr. Larbi-Siaw has traveled throughout Europe for study and business. He has attended several seminars and training courses in marketing and management.

                      Mr. Larbi-Siaw holds a B.Sc. degree in Economics from the University of Ghana (1967), and a Post-graduate Diploma in Marketing from The Research Institute of Management in Delft, The Netherlands (1983) .

                        Mr. Mazambani is a Human Geographer. He works as Projects Officer in the Department of Physical Planning of the Government of Zimbabwe. His primary responsibilities include evaluating growth potential of intermediate and small towns, and advising the Ministry of Local Government, Urban and Rural Development on planning effective measures to promote orderly growth in these towns. Mr. Mazambani represents the Department of Physical Planning at inter ministerial meetings of the Committee on Rural Settlements and Housing Developments, and for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Planning.

                        He holds a B.A. (Honors) degree (1978) and an M. Phil. (1982) in Geography from the University of Zimbabwe.

                          He is a physician and Sub chief of the Pharmaceuticals Procurement Division of the Guatemalan Social Security Institute (IGSS). His responsibilities include management of all pharmaceutical resources, materials and hospital-medical equipment for the IGSS, and planning and projecting the needs of the IGSS for such items. He also serves as technical counselor for open contract procurement of hospital materials for the IGSS. Dr. Morales is particularly interested in improving hospital administration in Guatemala.

                          He holds an M.D. degree from the University Of San Carlos School Of Medicine (1977) and a specialization in internal medicine from Roosevelt Hospital (1979) and the IGSS General Hospital (1984).

                            Mr. Pillai is the Manager for Business Development in the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, Ltd. (KSIDC), the Development Bank of the Government of Kerala, in India. He established the business development wing of KSIDC to identify and assist entrepreneurs in setting up industrial projects in Kerala State. Mr. Pillai's primary interest is in project appraisal, especially project proposals for under developed regions. Mr. Pillai has also served as a private management consultant.

                            He holds a B.Tech. degree in Chemical Engineering (1974) from the Indian Institute of Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (1979) from the Indian Institute of Management.

                              He is an electrical engineer with Telecomunacacoes de Brasilia S/ A, in Brazil. The firm delivers technology to link medical professional services (consulting, diagnoses, monitoring and data transmission) in urban areas in Brazil to remote rural areas that cannot support adequate health care services. Mr. Susini Ribeiro has technical responsibility for the Telebrasilia Tele-health Project, jointly sponsored by the corporation and by local government, and he also manages the Laboratory of Technical Support for the corporation.

                              He is trained in computer technology, process control, telephonic systems and microcomputers, and holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Brasilia (1976).

                                He is Editor-in-Chief of International News for Horoya, Guinea's only news journal. He is responsible for gathering all news concerning Africa and international affairs, and writing and editing reports for publication. He was assigned to Horoya as a journalist in 1977, after receiving a Diploma in Social Sciences from the University of Conakry, for which he wrote a thesis analyzing the ideological dynamics of popular political movements in southern Africa. Mr. Bah has traveled widely on government-sponsored visits, and is an active member of the international journalism community in West Africa. Upon his return home he will help to develop Guinea's first international news service.

                                  Mr. Torres is the General Manager of Cenpro Radio and Television in Bogota, Colombia. Mr. Torres was trained in civil engineering, and later moved into management positions in two construction firms. He has been involved in the Grupo Social, of which Cenpro is a member. Mr. Torres served as General Manager for Occidental Bank's credit card program and succeeded in establishing a new credit card in Colombia within three years. His primary interest is in financial management and administration.

She is a professor of organizational behavior management at the Universidad del Pacifico, MBA School and Higher School of Business Administration (ESAN). She worked as a consultant to the UN/World Bank Project on Management and Human Resources Development, Organizational Training Program in Bolivia.

                                    She holds M.A. (1975) and Ph. D. (1977) degrees in Organizational Psychology and Human Resources Management from the University of Oregon. She has an M.A. degree (1970) in Education and Psychology from the Universidad Nacional in San Marcos, Peru.

                                      He is the Director of Planning and Economy in the Ministry of Finance and Economy for Kordofan Region, in Sudan. His particular interest is in regional planning, to improve local planning efforts in Sudan after the decentralization of government. Mr. Zumam is currently developing strategies to help traditional farmers adopt new technologies. He was a member of the Industrial Production Corporation of Sudan for eight years, and was senior economist in the Sudan Development Corporation, a development finance company, for three years, where he carried out research and monitored SDC projects.

                                      Mr. Zumam holds a B.Sc. (Honors) degree (1972) from the University of Khartoum and an M.A. (1977) from the University of Manchester, U.K., both in Economics.

                                        Mr. Cervantes holds a B.S. in Commerce degree from De La Salle College (1963) and completed graduate course work in Business Management at the Asian Institute of Management, both in the Philippines.
