Large numbers of eligible voters are unable to register or vote because they are in pretrial detention or incarcerated for misdemeanors. Innovative election administrators are responding by setting up polling locations in jail facilities. The District of Columbia Board of Elections and the Denver Elections team, working with sheriffs’ offices and corrections personnel, have pioneered a customer-focused approach to assist incarcerated eligible voters. This webinar will showcase how local elections officials can build a program to help incarcerated eligible voters register and vote.
