Uzbekistan’s location in the heartland of Central Asia can provide unique perspectives for America’s heartland. How does Uzbekistan approach major geopolitical and economic decisions?

Join Global Minnesota to hear from the Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Furkat Sidikov. Ambassador Sidikov will outline Uzbekistan’s recent history, major investment initiatives, and foreign policy priorities.

About Ambassador Sidikov:

 

Ambassador Furkat Sidikov has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States of America since March 2023. He was born in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and attended Tashkent Technical State University. As Ambassador, he has worked to develop strong economic ties between the United States and Uzbekistan and expand trade between the two countries. He previously served as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan as well as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan. He also worked as First Secretary and Attaché of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States. He speaks both Russian and English and is married with four children.
