Join us for a lunchtime seminar with Russ Stark, Chief Resilience Officer for the City of St. Paul. Russ works in the office of Mayor Melvin Carter. He will present on his own professional journey and his work leading the City of Saint Paul’s climate action and sustainability initiatives over the past 5 years.

 

About the Speaker

Russ Stark is the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Saint Paul working in Mayor Melvin Carter’s Office. Previously, Russ Served for 10 years on the Saint Paul City Council including three years as Council President. Prior to his public service, he worked at nonprofits focused on community development, environmental advocacy, and improved transportation options, including early planning for what is now the Green Line LRT. Russ has a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Swarthmore College and a Master’s of Urban Affairs and Public Policy from the University of Delaware.

 

About the Series

The STEP Seminar Series is an interdisciplinary platform for scholars and practitioners to discuss research and policy issues in the broad domain of science, technology, and environmental policy. The hybrid series takes place throughout the academic year at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and on Zoom, typically over lunchtime on Mondays.
