    About

    Tarun Gauba joined the Indian Police Service in 2001 and currently serves as Deputy Inspector General, heading the Central Bureau of Investigation’s operations in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Chandigarh. He specializes in investigation of anti- corruption cases, including cases of embezzlement of public funds, bribery, grafts, bank fraud and economic crimes. Mr. Gauba has served as chief of police in seven districts of Uttar Pradesh, and was responsible for the introduction of an innovative system that simplifies the solution seeking process for common citizens. Throughout his career he has been awarded numerous honors, including the Governor’s Gold Medal for Gallantry and President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh, as well as a Master’s degree in Police Management from Osmania, Hyderabad. During his fellowship year, he would like to hone his knowledge on combating corruption and embezzlement, in order to promote good governance and effective law enforcement in India.
