    Biography

    Ethan Ellis is a PhD student at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, concentrating in labor policy with a prospective Graduate Minor in Economics. His research interests include include human capital accumulation, labor market institutions, and non-wage amenities. He currently serves as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Occupational Licensing Law Research Project. His active research projects include analyses of the effects of occupational licensing by race, qualification requirements on licensing premia, and minimum wage laws on gig sector employment.

    From 2020 to 2022, Ethan worked as an Economic Research Assistant in the Regulatory Analysis Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)’s Division of Insurance and Research. Prior to this he served as a Community & Economic Development Volunteer with Peace Corps Ukraine.
