Emily Opara is the Associate Director of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. She leads all aspects of the program, including seminar planning, professional development, cultural exchange, event coordination, and financial oversight. In this role, she supports mid-career professionals from around the world and helps connect them with local leaders, institutions, and opportunities.
Her academic background includes studies in Global Studies and African American Studies, with a focus on international cooperation, cultural exchange, and social justice.
Before joining the Humphrey School, Emily worked at Global Minnesota, where she managed U.S. Department of State international exchange programs and facilitated community engagement with global visitors.
