Aaron Rosenthal is the Research Director with North Star Policy Action, a think tank dedicated to improving the lives of working Minnesotans. In this role, he leads the organization's research efforts on issues ranging from building clean energy infrastructure to wage theft.
Prior to North Star, Aaron worked as the Senior Research Specialist with the Council on Criminal Justice and was an assistant professor at Simmons College in Boston. He received his PhD in political science from the University of Minnesota in 2018, with a focus on public policy and American politics. He has published a book, The state you see: How government visibility creates political distrust and racial inequality, as well as several academic articles and op-eds broadly relating to American public policy.
Outside of work, Aaron serves on the board of Jewish Community Action and is Chair of the Devin Smith Scholarship Foundation which provides financial support to students at Saint Paul Central High School, his alma mater. He lives in the Hamline-Midway community in St. Paul with his partner and dog.
