About the Center
The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance (the Center) is a leading hub for political and policy analysis in the Midwest. Dedicated to fostering meaningful dialogue, the Center brings people together across differences to engage in vigorous, respectful, and practical discussions about the critical issues of our time.
Through high-quality analysis, public forums, and civic engagement, the Center works to shift the conversation from partisan divides to collaborative solutions. The Center hosts a wide range of events aimed at informing and engaging citizens, empowering them to take an active role in shaping their communities.
The Center is led by nationally recognized political scientist Lawrence R. Jacobs, who holds the McKnight Presidential Chair in Public Affairs and the Walter F. and Joan Mondale Chair for Political Studies.
