President Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, was involved in setting policy and strategies to deal with some of the world’s most pressing issues, including the global pandemic, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and relations with China. Sullivan reflected on the Biden administration’s foreign policies and the future of America on the world stage in an event at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs on June 5. 

In an era of deep political polarization, the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School Policy Fellows Program is building bridges across ideological lines. For 35 years, this nationally recognized leadership initiative has united emerging and mid-career professionals from diverse political, cultural, and geographic backgrounds to tackle Minnesota’s most pressing public policy challenges—fostering collaboration, inclusion, and civic engagement in the process.
