About the Symposium
Democracy at a Crossroads — The 2026 Democracy Symposium: A Call to Action is hosted by FairVote Minnesota in partnership with the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
Bringing together more than 400 leaders, journalists, policymakers, community members, and changemakers, this nonpartisan, solutions-focused symposium will explore the 2026 election and the future of elections, civic participation, and democratic governance.
Through a day of speakers and conversation, participants will explore practical solutions to strengthen civic participation, build institutional trust, and support a more responsive and resilient democracy. The symposium offers a space for meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and collaboration across communities and perspectives.
