Takeo Kuwabara is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs, where he teaches leadership, negotiation, consensus building, dialogue across conflicting values, and ethics (PA5135 in the fall and PA5190 in the spring). His research interests and previous field work include: collaborating with communities seeking to address the legacies of violent civil conflict in Northern Ireland and Peru; supporting collective climate adaptation interventions; building knowledge and capacity for community efforts to mitigate the disruptions of new technological interventions; and evaluating sustainability efforts and policies with a particular focus on how consensus building can further sustainability goals and enhance outcomes for all stakeholders. In addition to his four years of teaching experience at Humphrey, Takeo is a member of the faculty at Macalester College and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at MIT, Harvard, and Bowdoin. He holds undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduate degrees from the University of San Diego and Harvard University.
