About
Somayah Nouruzi is a project manager in Mayo Clinic’s generative AI program, where she leads efforts in ethical innovation at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and equity. She began her career in Afghanistan as a military prosecutor, educator, and journalist—advocating for legal reform, education access, and press freedom under systemic oppression. After resettling in Minnesota, she earned a master’s degree in management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and served as a Human Rights Commissioner for Olmsted County. Her work now focuses on designing technology-enabled systems that advance dignity, access, and justice for historically excluded communities.
