Professor Peter Calow has published a new e-book, Science in Public Policy for the Public, in which he makes the case that science is the only safe source of knowledge that works in making public policy.

At a time when public trust in institutions and scientific expertise is uneven, Calow asserts that understanding how science actually works is essential for a healthy democracy. Calow also warns that policies based on misinformation can have serious adverse consequences.
