Peter Calow Contributes to MN Drinking Water Action Plan
October 8, 2025

Professor Peter Calow conducted extensive research for the Minnesota Department of Health’s recently released State Drinking Water Action Plan, which details the vulnerabilities in our system and actions for protection.

The MN Drinking Water Action Plan spans 10 years to ensure all Minnesota communities have safe and sufficient drinking water. It outlines goals, strategies, actions, and key measures to address drinking water issues that affect Minnesotans.

The plan was informed by Calow and Ann Marcelle Lewandowski, a senior research and extension coordinator for the University of Minnesota’s Water Resources Center, through their report “Lessons from Drinking Water Professionals: An Assessment of Drinking Water Governance in Minnesota.” Calow and Lewandowski also answered questions about the state of our drinking water.
