Daniel Scholten Publishes Paper on Global Energy Demand Shift
August 1, 2024
Daniel Scholten, a visiting assistant professor in the Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy area, and a second-year STEP student, Daniel Zuckerman, have published a new paper, “The geopolitics of the global energy demand shift,” which was published recently by the Elcano Royal Institute in Spain.
Their report sparks discussion on how countries in the Global South will meet their new energy demands—balancing short-term reliance on fossil fuels with a transition to renewable energy over time. It also addresses the competitive dynamics for Global South markets between the Global North and current oil and gas exporters.
