About
Kate is a Ph.D. student in Public Affairs, specializing in Public Policy. Her work primarily centers on urban economics and housing studies, with a current focus on financialization and investor-ownership of single-family homes in the Twin Cities. In her research, Kate utilizes both econometric models and geospatial analysis to better understand the dynamics and implications of investor involvement in housing markets. She is currently serving as a research assistant at the Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA), where she studies the relationships between foreclosure, investor ownership, and long-term impacts on neighborhoods and communities.
Before joining the Humphrey School, Kate worked as an economic research assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She earned a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy from Brown University in 2021.
When she's not doing research, Kate enjoys riding her bike, going to concerts, and crafting.
