Eric Ostermeier has been a research fellow at the Humphrey School since 2006. Ostermeier founded and authors the influential nonpartisan political news site Smart Politics and curates the Minnesota Historical Election Archive – the largest searchable database of Minnesota election results.
A nationally-recognized expert on campaigns, elections, and political history, his research has been cited several thousand times in national and international print, broadcast, and digital news outlets as well as in an array of books and journal articles.
He earned his PhD in political science from the University of Minnesota in 2006, and his JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1995.
