About the Panelists:

 

Ahna Minge (MPP ’13) is Assistant Commissioner for Budget Services and State Budget Director. Her division works with the Governor’s Office, legislative committees, legislative fiscal staff and state agencies on fiscal policy, program review, performance management and developing and monitoring state agency budgets. After grad school, Ahna joined the Minnesota Department of Health. She then moved to Minnesota Management and Budget as an Executive Budget Officer. Ahna has also served as chief financial officer at the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

 

Laurena “Rena” LeCompte (MPP ’16) serves as Director of Budget Policy and Analysis. Rena manages a team of Executive Budget Officers who focus on E-12 education, higher education, and economic development. She joined MMB as an Executive Budget Officer covering various policy areas including economic development, E-12 education, taxes, and pensions.

 

Micah Intermill (MPP ’12) serves as Enterprise Director for Federal Funds Implementation. In this role Micah leads a team coordinating efforts inside and outside of state government to maximize federal investments coming to Minnesota. Prior to returning to this role in November, Micah has spent the last two decades in a variety of roles in and around government at the Federal, State, and Local levels.

 

Weston Merrick (PhD ’20) is a Principal Manager at Minnesota Management & Budget (MMB). Weston leads the Impact Evaluation Unit, a team of data and social scientist that evaluate the impact of state programs. Prior, he led MMB’s Results First project, an effort to increase the use of evidence in policymaking.
