Professor Tricia Olsen co-authored the article “The Disposable Oligarchs” in Foreign Affairs, which compares the United States’ recent political and economic shifts to oligarchs of recent history, particularly in post-Soviet Russia. 

Examining the relationship between business leaders and authoritarians, Olsen and her co-authors warn of unpredictable outcomes. They call for economic actors to pull the country away from authoritarianism and back toward democracy.
