Bauerkemper Co-Edits Tribal Handbook
July 10, 2022

Joseph Bauerkemper, an associate professor of American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth and an affiliate faculty member at the Humphrey School, is co-editor of the new Tribal Administration Handbook: A Guide for Native Nations in the United States, published by Michigan State University Press.

This handbook grew out of a collaboration among scholars and practitioners from tribal nations, universities, tribal colleges, and nonprofit organizations to develop practical resources in the field of tribal administration and governance. The book focuses on three key areas: tribal management, funding and delivering core services, and sovereign tribes engaging settler governments.
