At the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, we educate the next generation of public leaders.

If you have a passion to make the world a better place, we invite you to attend our 2022 Fall Preview Day on Monday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., to find out how you can turn your drive to make a difference into a reality.

Over the course of the day, prospective students will learn more about the Humphrey School and our nationally ranked master's degree programs. You'll hear from our distinguished faculty, and network with current students and alumni. 

Because we're committed to your success, our admissions team will help you create an outstanding application and guide you in securing funding for your education.

You'll have an opportunity to learn more about your program of choice in breakout sessions led by our faculty, who will give you a preview of your Humphrey School student experience.

Applying for graduate school is a big decision, and you will undoubtedly have questions along the way. Fall Preview Day is a great opportunity to get the information you need to help you decide your future.

Everyone who attends Fall Preview Day will become eligible for an application fee waiver. 

This event will be held in person at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Attendees will be required to abide by any University face mask protocols in place at the time. We plan to offer a live video stream of the morning session; however, there will be no opportunities to interact with the speakers beyond listening.

Monday, November 7, schedule of events (Central time):

9–9:30 a.m. Check in

9:30–10 a.m. Welcome remarks: admissions team and dean's office
You'll learn why the Humphrey School is an ideal place to increase your knowledge of public affairs, in and out of the classroom.  

10–10:45 a.m. Alumni keynote speaker - TBA

10:45–11 a.m. Break

11 a.m.–noon. Admissions and merit aid process overview 
Our admissions team will discuss the admissions process and how to create an outstanding application. We'll also review the resources available to help you fund your graduate degree.

Noon–1 p.m. Lunch and student panel discussion

1–3 p.m. Program-specific breakout sessions
Prospective students will meet with faculty and students in the following degree programs: Master of Development Practice; Master of Human Rights; Master of Public Policy; Master of Science in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy; and Master of Urban and Regional Planning. You'll learn about coursework and internships for your particular area of interest, and all of the amazing support you will receive as a student.
