Fertig on Research Team Studying Structural Racism and Health
April 27, 2022

Research scientist Angie Fertig is part of a new research project funded by a $3.25 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to measure the impact of structural racism and discrimination (SRD) on the health and emotional well-being of individuals across the life course.

The project is led by Jerica Berge of the Medical School and includes investigators from Pediatrics, the School of Public Health, the Minnesota Population Center, and the University of Georgia. The study will add to the understanding of the relationship between SRD and health disparities, so appropriate interventions can be developed
