Minnesota Climate Framework Takes Shape With Input from STEP Faculty Members Calow and Chan
May 24, 2022

Professor Peter Calow and Associate Professor Gabe Chan served on working groups to support Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's Climate Action Framework. A report summarizing the working groups' conclusions has now been released.

Calow was a member of the clean economy group, and Chan was on the energy and buildings group.

Over the coming weeks, the Governor’s Advisory Council on Climate and the Climate Change Subcabinet will consider the working groups' conclusions and public input they have received to finalize the framework, which will set a vision for how the state of Minnesota will address and prepare for climate change. The goal is to identify immediate, near-term actions to take to achieve the long-term goal of a carbon-neutral, resilient and equitable future for Minnesota.
