The Humphrey School of Public Affairs is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Awards. This prestigious event, now in its 20th year, honors individuals, organizations, and corporations that have made significant contributions to the common good through leadership and service.
The 20th Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Awards will take place on September 12, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at the University of Minnesota's McNamara Alumni Center. This year’s recipients are:
Margaret Chutich, retired justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, for her instrumental role in ensuring equitable representation for all citizens in the legal system. Her groundbreaking status as the first openly gay member of the Supreme Court has inspired countless individuals to see a better future for themselves, thereby fostering a more inclusive and representative democracy.

Greater MSP Partnership, the economic development partnership for the 15-county Minneapolis-St. Paul region; for its role at the forefront of driving inclusive economic development and promoting regional prosperity in Minnesota through innovative initiatives that have not only attracted investment and talent to the region, but have also created opportunities for businesses and communities to thrive.
These remarkable recipients join a prestigious list of honorees that includes pioneering scientist and community activist Reatha Clark King, Vice President Walter Mondale, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Thomas Friedman, retired Minnesota supreme court justice Alan Page, and longtime Minnesota Public Radio host Gary Eichten.
