Humphrey School Named a Top 10 Public Affairs Graduate Program
For the third year in a row, the Humphrey School of Public Affairs is being recognized as one of the top 10 graduate schools for public affairs in the nation.
According to the latest annual survey of graduate and professional schools by US News & World Report, the Humphrey School is ranked 10th out of 285 schools. The Humphrey School’s nonprofit management program placed fifth, and its social policy program placed ninth.
The results, released today in the magazine’s Best Graduate Schools 2020 issue, place the Humphrey School program overall in the top 3.5 percent of all master’s degree programs in public affairs at US institutions. Several of the School’s specialty programs also ranked in the top 10 percent.
“Humphrey School faculty and students are leading important innovation and change at the local, national, and global levels. It is gratifying for that work to be recognized by our peers,” said Humphrey School Dean Laura Bloomberg. “We are constantly striving to strengthen our programs and provide the best education and opportunities for students. By doing so we ensure that our graduates have the tools necessary to go out into their chosen field and turn their academic work into real-world solutions.”
This is the third year the Humphrey School has placed in the top 10 overall rankings.
Humphrey School specialty programs with top 25 rankings are:
- Nonprofit management, No. 5
- Social policy, No. 9
- Public management and leadership, No. 14
- Public policy analysis, No. 17
- Public finance and budgeting, No. 23
The rankings are based on a survey of deans, directors, and department chairs representing the 285 master’s degree programs in public affairs and administration. Two surveys were sent to each school.
