Humphrey School Dean Nisha Botchwey Becomes President of NASPAA

October 2, 2026

Nisha Botchwey, dean of the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, began her term as president of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA) on Oct. 2 at the organization’s 2026 Global Conference in Seattle.

NASPAA brings together more than 300 member schools around the world to advance excellence in public service education. It also accredits master’s degree programs in public policy, public affairs, and public administration.

“My vision is for NASPAA to be a global home where institutions learn from one another, strengthen public service education, and prepare students to meet the challenges facing their communities,” Botchwey said.

As NASPAA president, Botchwey will focus on expanding pathways into public service and supporting educators as they navigate artificial intelligence, deepen civic learning, and prepare students to lead with ethical judgment and work across differences.
