Join the Humphrey School for a conversation with Robert Malley, a former senior U.S. official who served in the Clinton, Obama, and Biden administrations, as he discusses his new book, Tomorrow Is Yesterday: Life, Death, and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine. Malley will be joined by Arshad Mohammed, Senior Fellow at the Humphrey School, for a moderated dialogue on the complexities of conflict, diplomacy, and the pursuit of peace. A 20-minute audience Q&A will follow.

Robert Malley will join the Humphrey School for a book conversation about Tomorrow Is Yesterday: Life, Death, and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine. Co-authored with Hussein Agha, the book examines decades of missed opportunities, political realities, and human stories that shape one of the world’s most enduring conflicts. Through their research and firsthand experience, Malley and Agha offer an intimate and layered portrait of people and policymakers grappling with war, loss, and the ongoing search for peace.

 

The discussion will be moderated by Arshad Mohammed, Senior Fellow at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs. The conversation will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m., followed by a 20-minute Q&A with the audience.

About Robert Malley

 

Robert Malley served in senior Middle East positions in the administrations of Presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. The former CEO of the International Crisis Group, he is the author of The Call from Algeria and a lecturer at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs.

Tomorrow Is Yesterday explores the political, historical, and human dynamics at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Drawing on personal interviews, archival material, and years of policy engagement, Malley and Agha trace how leaders and communities have confronted recurring cycles of hope and heartbreak—and what future paths toward peace may require.
