STEP Seminar: Aaron Klemz, Chief Strategy Officer, MCEA

Join us virtually or in person for a lunchtime conversation with Aaron Klemz, Chief Strategy Officer at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy. Aaron will present on environmental policy moving at the Minnesota Legislature, including the passage of the 100% carbon-free electricity standard. He’ll also discuss MCEA’s work on mining and how that interacts with the clean energy and clean transportation transitions, as well as his career path that brought him from higher education to policy advocacy work. 

About the Speaker

Aaron holds two Masters degrees, one in Communications, the other in Advocacy and Political Leadership. He has over a decade of experience teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in policy and communications. Prior to working at MCEA, Aaron was the Advocacy Director at Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness.

The STEP Seminar Series is an interdisciplinary platform for scholars and practitioners to discuss research and policy issues in the broad domain of science, technology, and environmental policy. The hybrid series takes place throughout the academic year at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and on Zoom, typically over lunchtime on Mondays.
