A diversity and equity workshop about sex work and sex worker rights for University of Minnesota students, staff, and faculty.
Increasing numbers of students and university community members have lived experience in the sex trades. What can we learn from sex work/er scholars and activists about building an inclusive and equitable community for people with lived experience in the sex trades? How can these principles and strategies be applied in higher education?
Join us for a workshop led by our communications manager, Dr. Jayne Swift. Swift is an expert on commercial sexual cultures and economies, with a long record of activism and leadership advocating for improved policies for sex workers, from the local to the federal level.
The 90-minute workshop will introduce participants to the laws and policies impacting people in the sex trades, equip participants to identify systemic discrimination against sex workers, and provide best practices for supporting people in the sex trades.
