Join us as Nicolas Buccola, the author of The Fire Is upon Us: James Baldwin, William F. Buckley Jr., and the Debate over Race in America, examines the decades long-debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley Jr. over race in America.
Buccola examines the lives and works of these “poets” of their respective movements and the talk culminates in a consideration of their famous 1965 Cambridge Union debate. The presentation will be followed by an audience conversation. The event is free and open to the public.
