Nathan Bean is a research associate at the Institute for Urban and Regional Infrastructure Finance (IURIF), where he is engaged in applied research in state finance, transportation, and public policy. He is involved in projects focused on highway and transit finance, as well as visualizing data for the Minnesota Transportation Finance Database.
Nathan holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Prior to joining IURIF, he focused on issues in Greater Minnesota at the Center for Small Towns. Through his work and academic experience, he gained experience in quantitative and qualitative research including data analysis and visualization, data collection, and interviewing.
