Milica Orlovic is an experienced project officer in the international development industry. She has worked with several UN agencies, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In her previous roles she has worked with stakeholders to combat violence against women and ensure institutionalization of the gender equality agenda. Working for the International Civilian Office and the EU Special Representative Office in Kosovo, she was involved in the stabilization and democratization processes in post-conflict Kosovo. Moreover, during her work for the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, Ms. Orlovic was directly involved in establishing peace, building institutions and supporting development as well as promoting democracy and human rights in general. Ms. Orlovic received a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Pristina North Mitrovica, and a Master’s degree in European Studies from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. During her Humphrey year she plans to study the mechanisms and legislation on prevention of gender based violence and public policies promoting gender equality.
