Kate holds two master’s degrees, one in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management, and another in higher education student services. She plays the bassoon and serves on the board of the nonprofit MacPhail Center for Music, one of the largest community-based music education organizations in the nation. Kate was a 2012 “40 Under Forty” honoree in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.
