Kate Cimino

Assistant Director

Kate Cimino serves as the assistant director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance (CSPG) at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. Kate works at the intersection of the business, government, and nonprofit sectors, designing experiences that connect diverse leaders and build capacity for civic impact in Minnesota and beyond. Since 2007, she has led many of CSPG’s cross-sector initiatives, including the renowned Humphrey Policy Fellows program, which brings together Minnesota’s top mid-career leaders to engage more effectively in politics, policy, and civic affairs. Kate holds two master’s degrees, one in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit management, and another in higher education student services. She plays the bassoon and serves on the board of the nonprofit MacPhail Center for Music, one of the largest community-based music education organizations in the nation. Kate was a 2012 “40 Under Forty” honoree in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.
