Mr. Kanhuraj Bagate is currently Deputy Inspector General of Registration and Deputy Controller of Stamps in the state of Maharashtra, India, responsible for revenue collection related to property transactions and contracts. Previously he supervised elections for Indian Parliament, State Legislative Assembly, local self government, and cooperative societies.  For the state of Maharashtra he has also worked on a program to resettle people affected by irrigation and infrastructure development projects. In the housing department he worked for slum improvement projects for both rural and urban communities, including Mumbai. His academic background is in agriculture, law, and business. During his fellowship year, Mr. Bagate will pursue a Master of Public Affairs degree.
