She went on to obtain her Masters of Law, also from the University of Stellenbosch, Western Cape and after leaving private practice, she has dedicated her skills, knowledge and passion to the public service. Ms. Le Roux works for the Cape Town Municipality as the Principal Legal Advisor to the Executive Mayor. In this position she is solely responsible for advising the Executive Mayor together with the Mayoral Committee, in their capacity as the Appeal Authority on land-use and urban planning matters. The municipality plays a key role in the transformation of the urban environment, transport and access to socio-economic opportunities. During her fellowship year, Ms. Le Roux plans to learn more about urban development, best practices regarding inclusionary and affordable housing policy development, and municipal governance.
