Mr. Abdoul Aziz Traore currently serves as director of human resources at Energie du Mali (EDM), the only electricity provider in Mali, where has worked since 1996. There, he acts as trainer and quality auditor. As head of the administrative staff responsible for all aspects of human resources, he is fully involved in EDM’s current restructuring program. He provides advice to the Ministry overseeing this process on ways for EDM to provide additional public services to best meet the needs of the Malian people. Mr. Traore also is a member of the international nonprofit LEAD, a worldwide network of organizations and individuals committed to sustainable development. As a LEAD Fellow, he helped establish LEAD Mali to promote local-level sustainable development by increasing public awareness and conducting conferences, trainings, and projects.
