Kayla Schuchman (MPP ’12) was recently named a “40 under 40” honoree by the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal. Schuchman is housing director for the City of St. Paul.
“Kayla’s incredible service in our community continues to ensure everyone can access stable, accessible, fair, and equitable housing," St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter said in congratulating Schuchman on the award.
Prior to joining the city of St. Paul in 2018, Schuchman was a project manager for the St. Paul-based affordable housing developer CommonBond Communities, where she structured deals and built community support to develop affordable multifamily projects.
Previously, Schuchman spent nine years implementing affordable housing policy through successive roles at Minnesota Housing, the state’s affordable housing agency.
