U CARD TIPS

Some U Card (U of MN ID Card) basics

Your first U Card is FREE. Students, staff and faculty use the U Card as their primary University identification.

Get your U Card prior to Orientation. You will need a U Card for us to issue your Humphrey key card at Orientation. (The key card gives you access to the computer labs, and the student lounges.) Your U Card is necessary to access the Humphrey Center or other University buildings after hours. It is also your University library card and your Recreation Center ID card.

Students must be admitted and/or registered for classes before getting a U Card.

Be aware that the U Card Main Office at Coffman will have heavy undergraduate orientation traffic--so be prepared to wait or try one of the satellite offices.

You need an ID to get your ID: Bring your driver's license, state ID or passport to any of these locations:
