August 6-27: International Student Orientation in the Office of International Student and Scholar Services, 190 Humphrey Center (http://www.isss.umn.edu/new/ISOP.html). All international students must report to 190 Humphrey Center when arriving on campus where they will receive details of their international student orientation activities. Please select orientation dates that do not conflict with the Humphrey Institute Orientation, (only the August 30th date would conflict in any way) since international students need to attend both orientations. You will receive a separate mailing from both the Humphrey Institute and ISSS with further details.

August 18 or 21st:
Graduate School Orientation http://www.ofyp.umn.edu/gradstudents/index.html
HHH students are encouraged to attend helpful workshops and information sessions at the Graduate School Orientation, which is for all graduate students on the Twin Cities campus. (Helpful hint: this is a great opportunity to get your U of MN ID card). However, if there is a scheduling conflict between the Graduate School Orientation and Humphrey Orientation events, Humphrey Orientation should take precedence. Please note that all students are charged a one-time Orientation fee of $50, whether or not you attend. This fee goes to the Graduate School, not to the Humphrey Institute.

• You may attend the Graduate School Orientation on either August 18 or 21.
• Identical writing workshops are scheduled for August 18, 19 and September 13.
• Minneapolis campus and Twin City tours are scheduled for the evenings of August 20th and 21st , respectively.

August 25 (all day Monday): Mandatory MPP, MS, MURP and MPA Humphrey Institute Orientation.

August 26-27 : Mandatory Humphrey adviser appointments (MPP, MS, and MURP only) and computer orientation (all degrees).

September 2 : (Tuesday): Fall semester 2008 begins.
