KFAI

KFAI is a volunteer-based community radio station that exists to broadcast information, arts and entertainment programming for an audience of diverse racial, social and economic backgrounds. By providing a voice for people ignored or misrepresented by mainstream media, KFAI increases understanding between peoples and communities, while fostering the values of democracy and social justice.

Tutor at Trinity Lutheran

A Trinity tutoring program for Cedar-Riverside kids, primarily East African, to receive help with homework after school during the regular school year. ESL tutors needed at Riverside Plaza

The Cedar-Riverside Adult ESL Program is looking for volunteers for our morning (9-12, any day Monday through Friday) classes. Working together with a paid teacher, you will help our students acquire the basic English they need to read letters, instructions, medicine labels, fill out applications, prepare for employment and much more. We're a community organization serving 100+ students daily, and many of our classes are held in the building where our students live. Most of our students are immigrants and refugees from East Africa, mostly Somali and Oromo.

ESL tutors needed at the Brian Coyle Community Center

The pre-literacy level class serves recently arrived adult immigrants and refugees (mostly from East Africa) who, generally, have little or no experience with reading and writing in any language.

Cedar Cultural Center

The Cedar (also known as the Cedar Cultural Center) is a highly eclectic music venue located in the vibrant West Bank district of Minneapolis. AccountAbility Minnesota provides accounting assistance and tax help to low-income individuals and small business owners. During tax season there are tax sites at the Brian Coyle Community Center.
