Bohemian Flats Day
August 16th, 2008
Riverside Park (Upper Level)
www.BohemianFlatsDay.com

Come celebrate a historic Minneapolis neighborhood! From the 1860's to 1932, the Bohemian flats were home to waves of thriving immigrant communities of Swedes, Slovaks, Bohemians, Danish, Irish, and Italians along the Mississippi River. At its peak, the streets named Wood, Cooper and Mill housed one hundred homes, five hundred residents, two churches and two stores. On August 16th, we will celebrate our immigrant heritage and welcome neighbors interested in the hisotry of immigration in our community.

The following volunteer opportunities exist for Bohemian Flats Day: musician, historian, ethnic dancer, artist, puppeteer, singer, actor, food or goods vendors. Contact organizers through www.bohemianflatsday.com for more information on how you can become involved with this event!
