Introduction read before all CHANCE meetings
“This group gives members of the community of Cedar Riverside an opportunity, a chance, to speak and engage in an open setting. This is a free space where people can and are encouraged to share their thoughts, questions, and concerns. We ask that you keep comments to the topics on the agenda and they are respectful of others within the circle of dialogue. We come from unique backgrounds and have unique relationships within the neighborhood and therefore there is always room for conflict and agitation within our discussions. Let us remember that we are all part of the same community and want to see it thrive.
CHANCE began through the hope of students from the Humphrey Institute. The hope was that this group would encourage greater partnerships and positive outcomes within our community of Cedar-Riverside. Let’s carry that same spirit in our meeting today.”
