    About

    Nancy N. Eustis, professor emerita, retired in 2010. While at the University, she taught courses in social policy and evaluation research. She also served on the University's gerontology faculty and was affiliated with the University's Department of Sociology and School of Public Health.

    She has particular interest in health care and personal assistance services for older people and people with disabilities. Her research concerns consumer-directed long-term services and quality and cost-effectiveness of in-home and nursing home care. She also has studied health services planning.

    Eustis is senior author of Long-Term Care for the Elderly: A Policy Perspective, and co-editor of Seeking Common Ground: Aging and Disabilities. Eustis was named deputy director for the University of Minnesota Center on Aging in 1996 and has served as the All-University Council on Aging co-chair. In 1994–1995, she was special assistant in disability, aging, and long-term care policy in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation.

    Eustis has received awards for outstanding achievement from the Minnesota Gerontological Society and Ohio Wesleyan University.
