U.S. National Security and Intelligence Since 9/11September 15, 11 a.m. | Room 175 Stuart A. Levey, senior fellow for national security at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) will discuss what the United States has learning in the ten years since September 11, 2001, as part of the CFR’s Academic Conference Calls series from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, in Humphrey School Room 175. Levey was the first undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He was responsible for the new office, and its efforts to disrupt and dismantle the financial networks supporting terrorist organizations, to oversee financial measures against proliferators of weapons of mass destruction, and played a central role in both the Bush and Obama administrations’ strategies to impose financial pressure on North Korea, Iran, and other rogue regimes. |

Weber, managing partner of Clark and Weinstock, will offer his insights on the 2012 presidential campaign. The event is free and open to the public and will be moderated by Professor Larry Jacobs. |

Barbara Walter (University of California San Diego) will lead this discussion, which is part of a series to feature those whose work uses rigorous social science to inform debate over important international policy issues.
